A robust and versatile manual scanner for recorded UT inspections, featuring a built-in encoder and modular configurations (mono, TOFD, dual angle, mixed)

Tripee is a simple, economical and reliable solution for performing recorded UT inspections, leveraging the power of latest-generation instruments (2 independent channels and B-scan, C-scan and TOFD recording). It is a handheld scanner that can be fitted with adapters for conventional probes, as well as TOFD or Phased Array probe holders, with various configurations depending on the application.

Examples of use:

  • UT inspections recorded using B-scan and C-scan acquisition
  • TOFD inspections of welds
  • Tests using conventional 0° probes (single and double)
  • Inspections using angled probes, including those requiring inspection in two opposite directions
  • Applications using Phased Array probes (via dedicated brackets/slides)
  • Mapping with manual indexing (with optional C-Scan button)
  • IP67 main encoder already mounted on the rear wheel
  • Hollow handle for passing through:
    • up to 4 RG174 probe cables
    • 2 encoder cables
    • Silicone rubber tubing for water injection (or other coupling fluid)
  • Quick-connect universal joint system to ensure a perfect fit with the transducer
  • Suspension systems with fine-tuning of spring load depending on the application
  • Probe holder designed for water injection as a coupling medium (reducing costs and time and minimizing cleanup after testing)
  • Compatibility with probes/brackets: conventional probes, TOFD, Phased Array
  • Also available with a laser pointer (optional, battery-powered)

Basic Tripee (single probe)

  • Universal mounting bracket for:
    • 0° probes (single and double)
    • angled probes
  • The direction of the beam can be adjusted over a 360° range
  • Probe holders with:
    • wear-resistant tungsten carbide grains
    • anti-wear treatment

Tripee in TOFD configuration

  • Optional additional axis for 2-channel TOFD
  • Adjustable bars for quick suspension repositioning
  • Quick, tool-free suspension adjustment
  • Optional:
    • C-Scan button
    • battery-powered laser pointer
  • Mixed configuration and suspension mounting in compact position (minimal footprint) are possible

Tripee in a double-angled configuration
