With over 22 years of experience in the field of non-destructive testing, Eugenio Centenaro works alongside the sales team and clients at IMG Ultrasuoni to provide technical consulting, training and application support.

His professional career has primarily focused on the oil & gas and energy sectors, where he has gained extensive experience in planning NDT campaigns, providing technical supervision, drafting and reviewing operating procedures and applying conventional and advanced methods to welds, forgings, castings and industrial components.

At IMG, he assists clients in selecting and implementing the most appropriate control techniques, developing customized solutions and providing theoretical and practical training for technicians and operators. He is also involved in research and development activities, in collaboration with leading companies in the industry.

His work combines hands-on experience, regulatory expertise and the ability to translate client needs into practical, implementable and sustainable control solutions.

Throughout his career, he has held senior management positions in the industrial sector, with a particular focus on the oil & gas, energy, petrochemical and power supply industries.

His experience includes both field operations and technical coordination roles, with responsibilities in managing inspection campaigns, providing technical oversight, establishing procedures and organizing training and examination programs.

He has developed specialized expertise in the application of conventional and advanced techniques to various types of industrial products and components, including welded parts, forgings, castings, petrochemical plants and applications related to the energy and power supply sectors.

Eugenio Centenaro began his career in the fields of geology and petroleum engineering, before establishing himself in the non-destructive testing sector, where he has held technical, consulting and coordinating roles.

1997 – 2001 | Applied geology and environment
Initial technical experience in the environmental, geological and plant engineering fields, including work related to the hydrogeological characterization of sites and the removal of fuel distribution systems.

2001 – 2003 | International oil industry
Mudlogging services for oil well drilling in Italy and abroad, with operational experience in Basilicata, Spain, Yemen and Algeria.

2003 – 2017 | CTR S.r.l.
Level 3 Technician and NDT technical manager, responsible for inspection, testing, supervision and the application of conventional and advanced techniques, including Phased Array and TOFD, on welds, forgings, castings and industrial products.

2017 – 2025 | SGS CTR S.r.l.
Product Coordinator in the province of Milan. He has managed non-destructive testing campaigns at petrochemical and power generation facilities and has also served as the head of the NDT testing center.

Dal 2025 | IMG Ultrasuoni S.r.l.
Level 3 Technician, providing technical support to customers, regulatory consulting, research into specialized techniques, theoretical and practical training for Level 2 Technician and training on the use of new tools and techniques. He is also involved in research and development activities, in collaboration with leading companies in the industry.

At IMG Ultrasuoni, Eugenio Centenaro helps strengthen the technical support provided to customers, bringing with him experience gained directly in the field and in complex industrial settings.

His role goes beyond simply advising on the equipment: he starts with the customer’s actual needs, assesses the type of inspection, the component to be analyzed and the relevant regulations, in order to identify the most suitable solution.

This approach is consistent with the IMG method: offering technologies that are reliable, but above all practical, understandable and sustainable over the long term.

A significant part of its work involves training Level 2 technicians and operators in both NDT methods and the practical use of advanced tools and technologies.

The training programs are designed to impart skills that are truly applicable in the field: from understanding the methodology to properly setting up the equipment and on to correctly applying procedures and managing operational challenges.

In this way, training becomes a practical tool for increasing autonomy, reliability and consistency in inspections.
