Forge One

Forge One

Advanced system for ultrasonic testing of forgings (turbine discs and shafts)

Forge One was developed for ultrasonic testing of high-quality forgings (turbine discs and shafts). The UT hardware section of Forge One stands out for its high-level performance in terms of SNR, sensitivity and resolution, making it suitable for all applications where the quality of the recorded data cannot be compromised.

The multi-parallel architecture allows the same A-scan signal to be acquired and analyzed in up to three completely separate modes on the same transmission pulse, unlike instruments that require a separate pulse for each acquired A-scan.

On the software side, calibration management using AVG curves is designed to be fast and effective (starting with established curves that can be expanded or customized with specific probes). The equivalent defect rating (ERS) is calculated automatically.

Examples of use:

  • Ultrasonic testing of turbine discs and shafts (forged)
  • UT applications requiring the highest data quality and complete recording
  • Retrofitting of existing systems (using IMG Ultrasuoni's specific supervision software)
  • Number of probes: up to 3 probes (4 optional), up to 3 A-Scans per probe
  • Sampling: up to 100 MHz, 12 bit
  • Compression: up to 32, with retention of the maximum sample amplitude value
  • A-Scan points: up to 60,000 A-Scan points (optional: up to 500,000)
  • Filters: FIR, configurable
  • Gain: 88 dB, fully analog
  • TCG: 88 dB, fully analog, 40 dB/µs slope
  • Averaging: from 2 to 64
  • AVG/DGS: included with automatic TCG configuration based on AVG/DGS data
  • Recording: spiral, helical or raster
  • Gates: 5 independent A-Scan gates
  • Views: A-scan, B-scan, C-scan, Top view (overall or per gate), Side view and End view (single or slice)
  • Dimensions: automatic calculation of the maximum and minimum ERS values using the rectangle tool on each view
  • Compliance: ISO-EN 22232-1, ASTM E317-21 etc.
  • System integration: suitable for integration/retrofitting with the dedicated IMG Ultrasuoni supervision software
